ANITA HITS OHIO

PROCTORVILLE, O On July 10, anti-gay crusader Anita Bryant visited this little Southern Ohio River town to help fund what she calls a "familyoriented" religious TV station. Apparently anticipating a pink slip from the Florida Citrus Commission, Bryant told 1,100 churchgoers at First Baptist Church that "my strength and energy comes from something better than Florida orange juice. My vitamin C is Christ." Bryant then sang three hymns.

After her "testimony" Bryant said her fight against the Dade County gay rights ordinance has cost her 70% of her bookings. She claimed the nations' gay groups were attempting to ruin her career, but she said, "I am willing to sacrifice my career for my beliefs."

Bryant's appearances in Proctorville and nearby Huntington, West Virginia were paid for in advance by the established churches. She was welcomed by Rev. John Ally who said Bryant "is a symbol of American womanhood; a housewife and a mother." Earlier, Bryant had ser monized that "The enemy is all around us and we at this time in this country especially need real men with backbone." Bryant also asked the women present to be subservient to their husbands.

While in Huntington, she was picketed by gay rights groups, women's groups and the Ku Klux Klan. The Klansmen said they were at Bryant's speaking engagement to protect Ms. Bryant, whom they said they supported. "We love her," said a Klan spokesperson.

SANDUSKY'S KEG BRIGHTENS RESORT TOWN

The Keg Lounge (1616 Cleveland Road (419) 627-9582) has added more fun to the resort atmosphere for gays in the Sandusky area and for those visiting Cedar Point since last February.

At last there is a place where gays can dance together! Not only do they have dancing, but it is full disco dancing with a light show in the wood-paneled | lounge.

The friendly aura of the Keg which enables you to meet both locals and visitors is enhanced

by three features. The bar is located far enough away from the dance floor so that you can still have a conversation. A circular fireplace surrounded by comfortable furniture provides clear summer nights, the third another spot. On these warm, spot is their enclosed patio where you can "contemplate the stars" with your old or newfound friends.

The Keg is easily found if you are new to the area or visiting Cedar Point. All you need to do is follow the Cedar Point signs. from turnpike exit 7. A little more

than a block after you turn onto Cleveland Road, the Keg will be on the right just before the radio station.

Like most resort towns, Sandusky offers a bar of which any large city could be proud.

Their hours are 4 to 2:30 Monday through Saturday and 8 to 2:30 on Sunday.
